the old man plants the vineyard,
the young man the harvest
(Tuscan proverb)
The sun beats down, the grapes grow on the rows of vines aligned in a luxuriant and regular way. It is between green and golden shades and the slow browsing of greedy insects that the harvest period approaches. This practice is carried out completely manually, since it is the only way to respect the gift of the magnificent plant that is the vine and dedicate to each bunch the attention it deserves. Furthermore, hills do not naturally provide a welcoming terrain for mechanization.
Angelo and his family, together with their friends, find the harvest to be long and demanding work, but the climate of strong sharing that is created in this period is worth the effort.
The bunches are collected one by one, delicately cut from the plant as if to ask for favor and to thank for the gift. The same patience that he dedicates to his art, Angelo passes on to his son Vittore, to leave his work in his hands.
Together we harvest non-stop, for almost 20 days, by hand, without leaving anything out.
